We had so much fun taking Teenah and Jose's maternity photos at the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens in Jacksonville. I was a little apprehensive about the light because we started our session at 12pm with the midday sun. My photographer friends will know that it is not an ideal time for photos but we had to work with what we have. On Sunday the museum only open from 12-4pm, so we wanted to be there right when they are open. Otherwise, there will be a lot of people in their photos and that wouldn't be so much fun.
Teenah and Jose came all the way from New Orleans. They were on vacation visiting family in Florida. I love that Teenah and Jose dressed so well for their photoshoot, with hair and make up done, a beautiful dress that show off her baby bump perfectly, and Jose suit complement her style so well. I think we couldn't have pick a better location for what they had in mind, a beautiful garden with so many features to choose from. Throughout the session, I couldn't help but feel they were on the same page with each other. They have been together for many years and there was so much love between them. Jose was so attentive to Teenah's needs and when I asked him what are some must-have photos I need to take, he said I know it will mean a lot to Teenah if you take a picture of the little teddy bear and rattle that she had prepared and brought with her. Teenah had told me the same thing earlier! I thought that was so sweet that he knew what meant a lot to her.
Teenah and Jose, congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy. Thank you for entrusting me with your maternity photos. It was such a pleasure to spend that Sunday afternoon with you. I can't wait to see what your little baby boy will look like. He will be lucky to have you both as his loving parents. Best wishes, Katie
