George and Sable | Engagement Session

Updated: Apr 6, 2021

I came to meet George and Sable through their wedding videographer, Jacob, with Cherena Films, who is also a friend of mine. We met at a Starbucks one evening and it was so wonderful to listen to their love story. It warmed my heart to hear how family was so important to both of them, how George won her family over with his kindness and helpfulness after Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle and how he loved seeing what a great aunt Sable is to her niece. This past Christmas, George surprised Sable when he popped the question during her family Christmas gathering. He also made sure her best friend could be there as well! I love that little extra touch of thoughtfulness don't you?

We had set their engagement photoshoot for March, right before everything came to standstill with COVID-19. Everything came so fast as the government announced one closure after another. We contemplated whether or not we would continue with the shoot, but knew it was just going to get worst if we waited. Luckily, their wedding venue, Rustic Oaks Ranch, said that they were opened and we could take photos there. The location and evening could not be anymore perfect--(except maybe for the occasional realizations that we have to practice social distancing, and the super warm weather, even for Florida). We were the only three people on this beautiful secluded ranch; it was so peaceful and serene, I didn't want to leave. Somehow while we were there, all the worries and anxiety of the current state of the world, drifted away and made us forget that we were in the middle of a pandemic. George and Sable made it so easy, they were so much fun, so happy in love, there were plentiful moments of stolen hugs and kisses. I felt so lucky to be able to capture their love and celebrate with them in this way, especially during this unprecedented time in history.

Congratulations George and Sable, you both are a joy to be around, I can't wait for your wedding day! May your love continue to deepen and carry each other through whatever hardships and difficulties life may throw at you. --Love, Katie
